Tour Information

Looking for an exclusive adventure that offers stunning views of the Carnarvon National Park without the need for long walks? Look no further than the Highlands 4WD Tag-Along, the only local experience where you can explore the breathtaking views of the Carnarvon Ranges in your own vehicle.

This scenic driving adventure takes you through the ancient sandstone ranges of the private Nyanda Station, offering an unparalleled perspective of the Carnarvon Ranges that cannot be seen or accessed from any other location. With easy and shallow creek crossings, we'll meander along a dirt track, allowing you to soak in the stunning views of the towering sandstone walls of the Bandana and Carnarvon Ranges.

As we make our way through the beautiful landscape, we'll stop at our private lookout to enjoy morning or afternoon tea, included in your tour. This is the perfect opportunity to relax and take in the stunning views of the surrounding area, and to ask any questions you might have about the unique history and geology of the area.

So why not join us on this exclusive adventure and experience the beauty of the Carnarvon Ranges from a unique and unforgettable perspective?

- Meet at Nyanda's Entrance

At the entrance of Nyanda Station we will meet for an introduction to the station’s fascinating history before starting our scenic drive into the rugged ranges.

- Scenic Drive to Black Alley

As we traverse the elevated sandstone terrain, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of various distinct ecosystems and ancient gorges. As we near the Carnarvon National Park boundary, the terrain will shift from sandy to rocky, culminating in our private lookout.

- Crossing Black Alley and Consuelo Creeks

Nyanda is bisected by two important creek systems from the national park's gorges, which converge to form the larger Consuelo Creek. These creeks are rich in plant life, including Sheoaks, Carnarvon Palms, Fig Trees, Lily Pillies, and Bracken Ferns. We will drive through their shallow crossings en route to the lookout.

- Arrive at the Lookout for Tea/Coffee Break

After cresting the final hill to the lookout, you'll be greeted by an unparalleled view of Consuelo Gorge, which can only be seen and accessed from Nyanda Station. We will pause beneath a shady tree to enjoy the scenery and a hot beverage of your choice, accompanied by basic snacks.

- Return Drive to Nyanda Entrance

Finally, we’ll retrace our path back to the entrance of Nyanda for the conclusion of our tour.
